SPA Staff Council
Established 1999
Mission Statement
The purpose of the Staff Council shall be to provide representation of the staff and to have a voice in decision-making on matters that concern NCSA.
SPA staff employees recognize their increasing role of providing professional support to the university. The Staff Council shall continually seek new opportunities for staff to offer their services and experience to NCSA, while also ensuring that SPA staff employees work in a positive, respectful atmosphere with opportunities for their own professional and personal growth.
Membership
Membership to the Staff Council is open to all North Carolina School of the Arts permanent SPA staff employees by being elected to serve as a representative. Representatives are elected for one term (two years). Representatives are responsible for attending each monthly meeting or contacting their alternate in the event they are unable to attend. Representatives are expected to provide liaison between the staff they represent and the council.

The SPA Community Outreach Committee is a committee of the SPA Staff Council of NCSA. It was established in 1999 as a way for the School to give back to the community. NCSA volunteers have worked on numerous projects and programs including Habitat for Humanity, Salvation Army's Angel Tree, Prodigals House, Sunnyside Ministries, March of Dimes Teamwalk, Komen Race for the Cure, and others.
