 General Information
  • Pull nearest fire alarm.
  • Evacuate the area/building using stairs, NEVER ELEVATORS.
  • In dense smoke, crawl on the floor to the nearest exit.
  • Call UNCSA Police at (336) 770-3362 or 55 from any campus phone.
  • Render assistance to others, if possible.
  • Go to a central assembly location at least 1,000 feet away.
  • Report immediately to emergency personnel if someone is still in the building.
  • Do not re-enter the building without POLICE approval.

If it is safe, and you are trained, extinguish a small fire with a fire extinguisher: PASS

  • Pull safety pin from handle.
  • Aim at base of fire.
  • Squeeze the trigger handle.
  • Sweep from side to side at base of fire.
