Good Morning.
Today, the UNC Board of Governors unanimously approved the appointment of John Mauceri as the seventh Chancellor of the North Carolina School of the Arts. Mr. Mauceri is an internationally renowned conductor, and he is currently Music Director of the Pittsburgh Opera and Director of the Hollywood Bowl Symphony. His international reputation as an artist will bring depth to the School and his vision will take us to new places.
We are absolutely thrilled that Mr. Mauceri and his wife, Betty, have agreed to come to Winston-Salem to lead the School. We look forward to introducing them to our School of the Arts family and friends in the days and weeks ahead. I hope all of you will join me in welcoming the new Chancellor and Mrs. Mauceri to NCSA and North Carolina.
