M. Eric Rimes

Eric Rimes studied at Florida State University and the Yale School of Drama. Before beginning his teaching at UNCSA, Mr. Rimes toured as an electrician, pyrotechnician, and moving-light technician with productions of “Aida,” “Ragtime,” “Martin Guerre,” “Spirit,” “Jekyll and Hyde,” and “Beauty and the Beast.” He has also served as an electrician for Vee Corporation, lighting consultant for Hey City Theatre, assistant automation shop supervisor for Scenic Technologies, and assistant consultant for Theater Projects Consultants. Mr. Rimes has also served as production electrician for local and regional companies such as Carolina Ballet, North Carolina Theatre, Piedmont Opera and Greensboro Opera. Currently, Mr. Rimes works as the advance electrician for the national tour of “Wicked.” In addition, Mr. Rimes presents seminars for the Entertainment Services and Technology Association (ESTA) Foundation/United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT) Joint Training Committee. Mr. Rimes is a member of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE), ESTA and USITT. Mr. Rimes is also an ETCP certified technician and recognized trainer. |
