Eduardo Sicangco
Scene Design Faculty (2011)

Eduardo Sicangco enjoys a varied career designing sets and costumes for opera, musicals, theater, ballet, film, television, revues and arena spectaculars as well as theme park, cruise ship and corporate entertainment. His design credits include Cavalleria Rusticana, Pagliacci and Carmen for New York City Opera, Babes In Toyland for Houston Grand Opera, Manon, La Traviata and Elisir d’ Amore for Virginia Opera, Donald Byrd’s The Harlem Nutcracker and The Gershwin Celebration for Brooklyn Academy of Music and PBS, The Spring Spectacular for Radio City Music Hall, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes on Broadway, Das Barbecu Off Broadway and five editions of Ringling Brothers & Barnum & Bailey Circus.

Across the country, Eduardo has designed for Harford Stage, Ordway Music Theater, Children’s Theatre Company, Tanglewood Music Festival, Chautauqua Opera, Center Stage, Seattle Rep, Baystreet Theater, McCarter Theater, GeorgeStreet Playhouse, Goodspeed Opera House, Asolo Theatre Festival, Crossroads Theater, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Theater Under the Stars, and the St. Louis Muny, among others.

Eduardo’s works are featured in the Lynn Pecktal books, Costume Design - Techniques of Modern Masters and Drawing and Painting for the Theater. He was also the subject of “From Inspiration to Illusion, the Scenographic Works of Eduardo Sicangco,” a career retrospective at the Ayala Museum in the Philippines, where he was born.
