Welcome From The Dean

The theater is a rare place in our culture, where we come together to listen, question, and celebrate. In an increasingly disjointed world, we believe the theater remains a place of the greatest cultural and civic importance.

The School of Drama teaches young actors and directors the skills required to join an industry full of dreamers who believe, as we do, that our stories define and shape us. We seek to nurture the creative impulse, engage the imagination, and instill the discipline required to join this demanding and rewarding profession. Our students do advanced work in acting, directing, dancing, singing, stage combat, voice, speech, dialects, movement, mask, and professional practice. It’s a classical conservatory infused with the belief that the future of the theater will be made by people possessing the skills to tell those stories with commitment and technique.

I hope our new website gives you some idea of the rigor and passion that fills our school, and we hope you’ll come visit to experience firsthand some of the exciting work that fills our stages. Welcome!
