Lewis, Singing (1997)
Professional musical director and
master teacher of musical theatre and singing technique. Musical
director for the off-Broadway production of “Street Scene”
at the Equity Library Theatre. At the Great Lakes Theater Festival,
musical director for “Blood Wedding,” co-directed by Gerald
Freedman and Graciela Daniele, and “Mother Courage,”
starring Olympia Dukakis. Numerous Chicago credits include “The
Dead” for which he received a Joseph Jefferson Award for Musical
Direction, and “Side Show,” “The Great Gatsby,”
“Goblin Market,” “Assassins,” and
“Quilters,” all nominated for the Jefferson Musical
Direction Award. Other Chicago credits include “Little Me,”
“Brigadoon” and “Gypsy” at Marriott’s
Lincolnshire Theatre, all winners of the Joseph Jefferson Best Musical
Award; and “Merrily We Roll Along,” “Pacific
Overtures,” “The Frogs” and “Anyone Can
Whistle,” all recipients of the Jefferson Citation for Musical
