Career Pathways

Broadening opportunities for sustainable careers in the arts.

Artists face many barriers to establishing and sustaining their creative careers. The Kenan Institute focuses research and resources on understanding diverse career pathways in the arts, strengthening our professional development partnerships and sharing innovative strategies with the UNC School of the Arts and the field.

The professional opportunities listed below are part of the Kenan Institute’s Career Pathways initiative in partnership with the UNCSA Office of Career Development. The Fellowships with the Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center Education, and Penland School of Crafts are made possible by the William R. Kenan, Jr. Charitable Trust.
