Nancy Johnston holds a Bachelor of Music in piano accompanying from Indiana University and a Master of Music in vocal coaching and accompanying from the University of Illinois, where she studied with John Wustman. Her other teachers included Anne Epperson, Joseph Rezits and Ian Hobson. She is principal pianist and harpsichordist for Piedmont Opera Theatre and accompanist for the North Carolina Metropolitan Opera Auditions. She is a 1986 recipient of the Gramma Fischer Foundation Fellowship. Her summer festival residencies include the Saugatuck Chamber Music Festival, the Meadowmount School, and the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria. Ms. Johnston made her Carnegie Recital Hall debut in 1985.
