Kathleen Felty, Mezzo-Soprano
Kathleen is an alumna of Texas Tech University, where she received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance. In January 2016, Kathleen competed in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, where she placed first in the New Mexico District and second in the Rocky Mountain Regional Finals.
She has performed the role of the Zia Principessa in Texas Tech Opera Theater’s production of Puccini’s Suor Angelica in 2014. She attended the “Music in the Marche” summer opera program in 2014 in Italy, where she performed scenes as Marcellina in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro and Zita in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi.
Kathleen made her professional oratorio debut as the Mezzo-Soprano Soloist in Durufle’s Requiem in November 2014 for the Vespers Concert Series at First United Methodist Church in Lubbock, TX. She has also performed as a soloist in numerous recitals, concerts, and events with Texas Tech University and in the greater Lubbock area, including the Mezzo-Soprano solo in Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy and solos from Handel’s Messiah.
