Packet Requirements

UNCSA uses Interfolio Review, Promotion & Tenure (RPT), a faculty-oriented online secure platform, for submission and evaluation of materials provided by faculty members undergoing Rank Promotion.  Upon receipt of your Letter of Intent, Faculty Affairs will send you an email via the Interfolio platform with a link to “View Case” along with detailed instructions on how to upload your packet materials to Interfolio RPT.

Packet Checklist for Rank Promotion

Required Packet Materials (In Order of Due Date) 
1. External Reviewer Nomination Form

The External Reviewer Nomination Form for Rank Promotion is completed by the Candidate to recommend external reviewers.  Candidates should recommend at least five external reviewers to their dean.  See External Review Guidelines for Candidates & Deans for Rank Promotion and External Reviews FAQ for more information about selecting external reviewers and the external review process.

2. Application for Rank Promotion – Candidate

3. Self-Evaluation

  • Due Date: October 1.
  • Using the Procedures for Self-Evaluation for Rank Promotion for guidance, the Candidate will provide (1) a Self-Evaluation Narrative and (2) an Engaged & Sustained Résumé. These two documents comprise the Self-Evaluation which serves as the foundation of the packet and rank promotion evaluation.      

4. Curriculum Vitae (CV)

  • Due Date: October 1
  • The most recent version of the Candidate’s CV should be submitted. It should be dated and paginated.  It should include a list of courses taught, a list of administrative assignments and professional creative activity/research.

5. Student Course Evaluations

  • Due Date: October 1
  • Include the last 5 years of your student course evaluations. The Candidate should check with the Dean’s Office if he/she does not have copies of his/her student course evaluations for the period under review.

  • Candidates should organize the student course evaluations in chronological order. As you are naming and organizing your materials, keep in mind reviewers are not necessarily familiar with them.

6. Syllabi

  • Due Date: October 1
  • Include syllabi from the past 5 years
  • Candidates should organize syllabi in chronological order. As you are naming and organizing your materials, keep in mind reviewers are not necessarily familiar with them.

6. Annual Evaluations

  • Due Date: October 1
  • Required Form: Annual Evaluation/Update of Professional Activities Form, Parts I & II
  • The Candidate’s Annual Evaluation/Update of Professional Activities Form, Parts I & II for the period under review.  The Candidate should check with the Dean’s Office if he/she is missing either Part I or Part II of the Annual Evaluation.   

7. Supplemental Support

  • Due Date: October 1
  • This includes any additional information in support of the review.
