VoIP phone system
UNCSA switched to a VoIP phone system in early October 2017. If you have not done so, please set up your voice mail now.
How to set up your voice mail
- If you are at your phone, access your voice mail by pressing the voice mail button near the numeric keypad.
- Follow the system prompts.
- To exit the initial setup menu, press the * button on the numeric keypad.
To change your PIN from the initial PIN
- If you are at your phone, access your voice mail by pressing the voice mail button near the numeric keypad.
- Select 4 to go to Setup Options.
- Select 3 to change your Preferences.
- Select 1 to change your PIN.
- Follow voice prompts.

Following the campus-wide phone transition:
- Your phone number will not change.
- Voice mail boxes greetings, passwords, messages and the number to access voice mail message did change.
- Voice mail messages were retained from your current phone.
- Place your old phone in marked boxes that are located on campus to collect for surplus.
- Documentation for your phone is available.
- A second training workshop for using advanced features will be offered, Wednesday, Nov. 30. It will be announced in My SA announcements.
The VoIP phones offer numerous features:
- Music on hold
- Distinctive ring tones
- Voice mail messages sent to your UNCSA email account
- Bluetooth connectivity
