A.J. Fletcher Opera Institute: "Albert Herring"

The opera follows the story of Lady Billows and the leaders of the small town of Loxford in search of a Queen for the May Festival. When none of the girls in town measures up to the standards that Lady Billows has set, only Mrs. Herring’s son Albert seems to meet all the criteria to be the newly-named “King of the May.”

This one-night-only program includes the entire Spring Dance show, with guest performances by UNCSA Dance Dean Ethan Stiefel and Gillian Murphy of American Ballet. Also performing is Elena's brother, Sam Shapiro, of North Carolina Dance Theatre.

Orchestra $25-$50, Balcony $15-$30*

All proceeds benefit the Scholarship Fund.
