Wellness, the process of continuously integrating and balancing the physical, emotional, social, intellectual, and spiritual components of an individual, produces happiness and a higher quality of living. The Wellness Center operates on the philosophy that wellness and health are not static states, and the potential for change and improvement always exist. The Center provides resources and programs that promote and support attitudes and behaviors that enhance quality of life, and make it easier for the campus community to take responsibility for its own health and well being.

A student’s medical condition is held in the strictest confidence. If you are over 18 years of age and in college we will not discuss your health with your parents or with teachers or staff without your written permission. If you are under 18, we may call your parents about illnesses but will not discuss issues of sexuality, STDs or contraception. Medical information about high school students will be shared with arts schools, general studies and residence life staff only on a “need to know” basis.
No registered student will be denied service. There is no charge for the office visit; however there may be a charge for added laboratory services and medications. Payment may be made by cash, check, credit/debit card or One Card. Filing insurance is the responsibility of the student. We will provide you with an itemized statement. Bills are not mailed home.
Health and accident insurance coverage is required of all students. As insurance information often changes during the year, we request that you provide us with updated insurance information.
Services rendered at the Wellness Center for covered medical expenses on Pearce and Pearce insurance are covered 100% per illness or injury after paying the deductible. Students who have outstanding bills in health services may have a “hold” placed on their registration.
Parents of students with recurring health expenses often find it helpful to keep credit card information and authorization on file in their student’s chart. Credit card Form
