The University of North Carolina School of the Arts has been the summer destination of talented and motivated young artists for almost 50 years. Thousands of young dancers, actors, filmmakers, musicians and visual artists have found their own kind – and sometimes their calling ‒ on this campus. For many, it’s their first chance to learn from practicing professional artists. For most, it’s their first opportunity to interact closely with their peers in all the art forms. For some, it’s time to spread their wings far from home and to take the big leaps in artistic development that are common in these intense courses and workshops. For all, it’s an unforgettable learning experience, at a conservatory where the campus amenities include top-notch studio and performance spaces convenient to residence halls, comfortable common areas, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and social activities.
