Academic courses at a performing arts conservatory? Yes, indeed. One of the founding principles of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts is that an artist must have a good liberal arts education. In the conservatory context, the quality of academic programs has to be lively, engaging and excellent.  Now some of these courses are available in the summer session for academic credit, not only at UNCSA, but transferable to other colleges and universities.
