
Anne White
Anne White has been at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts for more than 28 years, coming from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where she was an area coordinator for residential life. During her long tenure at UNCSA, she has served as director of high school life, assistant director of residence life, director of judicial affairs and special projects, and as director of new student orientation. Ms. White is a certified mediator for state employees and serves as chair of the Campus State Residency Appeals Committee. She has been a visiting instructor in the areas of health education and constitutional law and has received recognition for her AIDS Prevention Education programs and leadership by both the American College Health Association and the National Association of Student Personnel Association. Ms. White received her undergraduate degree in political science and postgraduate master’s of education and educational specialist degrees in guidance and counseling from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
The Vice Chancellor for Student Life provides leadership and management to the Division of Student Life. Its focus is to enhance each student’s experience at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. As student advocate, the vice chancellor and her staff continually evaluate student needs and interests through counseling services, new student orientation, residence life, student success, and student health services. Additional services include student activities, transportation services, and learning and disability services. The division also operates and maintains the Hanes Student Common, the Fitness Center, and all campus residence halls and the two apartment complexes.
