AOC presents Black History Month programming
Artists of Color (AOC) have produced a month full of programming to honor and celebrate Black History Month, by honoring the past and creating the future.
Events
Y2K – The FlashBLACK Photoshoot
- Saturday, Feb. 3 | 7-9 p.m.
- Catawba
- This photoshoot will feature fashion from the 2000s to display Black culture’s impact on popular culture through fashion.
"The Color Purple" Screening
- Sunday, Feb. 11 | 7 p.m.
- Eisenberg in Hanes Student Commons
- In partnership with UNCSA Residence Life, this screening will be the 1985 version of the film, followed by a discussion.
Black Showcase
- Sunday, Feb. 25 | 7 p.m.
- DeMille Theater
- This year’s event will showcase students exploration of the Black experience through Black creativity, Black love and Black at UNCSA.
Afro-Futurism Fashion Show
- Sunday, March 30 | 7:30 p.m.
- Eisenberg
- Save the Date for this event you won’t want to miss!
Black History Month for High School students
In addition to AOC events, the Black Student Union within High School Life are celebrating
as well. A delegation of students will be attending the 64th Anniversary of A&T’s
Four Historic Sit-In. Students will also be able to explore The International Civil
Rights Center & Museum located in at the same location of the Woolworth sit-ins.
