The 2025-26 FAFSA is now available!
The Department of Education has launched the 2025-26 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Submit your FAFSA to apply for aid for the 2025-26 school year.
Complete your FAFSA by March 1, 2025, UNCSA’s priority filing date, to be considered
for maximum possible aid.
Important factors about the FAFSA:
- The FAFSA process should begin with the student.
- Any individual required to provide information on the FAFSA is a FAFSA “contributor”. The student’s answers on the FAFSA form will determine if any “contributors” need to be invited. In addition to the student, contributors can include the student’s spouse, parent, and the parent’s spouse (step-parent).
- To invite a contributor to their FAFSA form, the student will need to provide the name, date of birth, Social Security number, and email address of the contributor(s). Each contributor will need their own FSA ID.
- Students and other contributors to the FAFSA will need to log in separately to complete their FAFSA sections.
- All contributors will be required to provide consent and approval for federal income tax return data to be automatically transferred into the FAFSA
- For divorced or separated parents, the parent who provided the most financial support over the previous 12 months is required to contribute to the FAFSA. (If that parent is married now, the step-parent will also be a contributor.)
- The Student Aid Index (SAI) will be calculated from the FAFSA to determine your aid eligibility.
