Staff Enrichment Offerings for February

Doodles like lightbulbs symbolizing ideas and growthStaff Enrichment will be held Feb. 18 & 19 from 10 a.m. to noon and 2-4 p.m. Programs will last one hour and be virtual unless otherwise noted. Please remember that Staff Enrichment is for 8 hours of time, so you may not be able to attend everything. Be sure to work with your supervisor to ensure sessions work with work schedules.

Staff can choose self- or team-directed professional development in place of our monthly offerings, just be sure to work with your supervisor on details. Recordings of most prior workshops are available for use in self-directed enrichment time.

  • Alumni Engagement
    • 10-11 a.m.

    • Alumni engagement doesn’t just take place in one office on campus. There are two unique and exciting tools that the alumni office wants to share with all faculty and staff to help make engaging with UNCSA alumni easier and more effective for everyone. Join us as we walk through the UNCSA Alumni Network website and the UNCSA Connects platform.
  • Faculty Council Overview

    • Following a brief presentation on the structure of Faculty Council and its committees, we will discuss the evolving role of faculty in the governance of our institution. This is yet another way in which UNCSA is unique, as an arts conservatory that functions within a traditional state university system.
  • Introduction to Performance Hour

    • The entire campus community is invited to the UNCSA School of Music’s Performance hour, but not everyone may know what it is. Join Ken Wilmot, Music’s Director of Artistic Operations, for this overview of what Performance Hour is and how it plays a role in the education of our student musicians.
  • State & Federal Relations Update

    • The NC legislature and the 119thS. Congress are back at work.  Come learn about what is happening in Raleigh and Washington D.C. including our campus and UNC System state budget priorities. It is going to be an interesting year.

  • UNCSA Relief Efforts with Hurricane Helene

    • Join University Police and others as they discuss their involvement in supporting relief efforts in Western NC from Hurricane Helene.
  • Byte-Size Tech: Dropbox to OneDrive
    • 11 a.m. to noon
    • Hosted by Tamar Pandi, Chief Information Officer
    • Location: Microsoft Teams
    • UNCSA’s instance of Dropbox is being sunset over the summer as campus continues transitioning fully into Microsoft OneDrive. Join this session to discuss the implementation process and how to transition your existing work flows into the new platform.
  • Business Officers Roundtable: Accounts Payable & Travel

    • Hosted by Sarah Rimawi, Disbursement Manager and Matt Horvat, Assistant Controller

    • Accounts Payable is taking this time to host an open form for questions, concerns and suggestions regarding anything disbursement-related on campus. We are open to covering everything that touches our area including honoraria, foreign national payments, independent contractors, recurring payables… the list goes on! Come with questions and we will (try to) have answers!
  • Performance Hour

    • The entire campus community is welcome to attend these free, weekly performances showcasing student progress in the UNCSA School of Music. The pieces vary weekly and are determined by what students are working on this year. Be sure to register in order to receive updates on Performance Hour as they are available.
  • Stevens Center Update

    • Almost 40 years after the last significant renovation of the Stevens Center, a comprehensive renovation is underway that will address necessary repairs and modern upgrades. Join this session to get the most recent updates from inside the renovations.
  • Creativity & Wellness

    • Location: SAAB 241
    • Join the group to unwind and relax at the end of your work day with some creative expression. Bring your own artistic project, whatever it may be, or grab a provided coloring book to spend some stress-relief time with colleagues.
