Staff Enrichment offerings slated for June

A large doodle with a lightbulb in the centerStaff Enrichment will be held June 17 & 18 from 10 a.m. to noon and 2-4 p.m. Programs will last one hour and be virtual unless otherwise noted. Please remember that Staff Enrichment is for 8 hours of time, so you may not be able to attend everything. Be sure to work with your supervisor to ensure sessions work with work schedules.

Staff can choose self- or team-directed professional development in place of our monthly offerings, just be sure to work with your supervisor on details. Recordings of most prior workshops are available for use in self-directed enrichment time.

If you are unable to attend June sessions, save the date and mark your calendars to ensure that you can attend future sessions! The upcoming staff enrichment schedule is as follows:

  • Tuesday, July 15 from 10 a.m. to noon and 2-4 p.m. and Wednesday, July 16th from 10 a.m. to noon and 2-4 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Sept. 16 from 10 a.m. to noon and 2-4 p.m. and Wednesday, Sept. 17 from 10 a.m. to noon and 2-4 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Oct. 7 from 10 a.m. to noon and 2-4 p.m. and Wednesday, Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. to noon and 2-4 p.m.

  • HR Personal Leave

    • As of January 1, 2025, there are two leave programs for EPS employees. Current EPS employees will have the option to switch from Annual Leave to Personal Leave. This session will outline the new program and the differences between annual leave and personal leave. Participants must register with the HR form here as well.
  • Community Programs: Connecting Communities Across Town and Around the world

    • The Community and Summer Programs office coordinates year-round offerings in film, dance, drama, music, and visual arts for learners ages 4 through adults, bringing thousands of new visitors to our campus every year. Learn more about how UNCSA utilizes its faculty, alums, and students to build bridges and develop talent across generations.
  • Telecommunications

    • Join us for an engaging session that explores the critical role of public safety telecommunicators for our university community. Gain valuable insights into how these frontline professionals manage emergency communications and coordinate rapid responses to keep our university safe.
  • Federal & State Legislative Updates
    • 3-4 p.m.
    • Hosted by Jim DeCristo, VC for Economic Development and Chief of Staff
    • Location: Microsoft Teams
    • The NC legislature and the 119th U.S. Congress are back at work. Come learn about what is happening in Raleigh and Washington D.C. including our campus and UNC System state budget priorities. It is going to be an interesting year.

  • Byte-Sized Tech: Data Governance

    • Location: Microsoft Teams
    • Join us for a virtual training session on UNCSA’s Data Governance Program, where you'll learn how university data is classified, managed, and protected in alignment with institutional policy and regulatory standards. This session will provide insight into the roles and responsibilities that support secure, ethical, and effective data use across the university community.
  • All Staff Meeting & Staff Council Luncheon
    • 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
    • Hosted by Staff Council
    • Location: Eisenburg
    • Join us for a fun and festive atmosphere including music, food, and an opportunity for everyone to gather and celebrate the hard work of each UNCSA staff member. This luncheon is a meeting where the staff council delegates will vote on the new Staff Council Chair Elect and Secretary. No RSVP is required for attendance.
  • Creativity and Wellness – Learning How to Crochet

    • Hosted by Meika Loyd, One Card Assistant Director

    • Join me for a fun and relaxing crochet session where creativity meets community! Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your skills, this session is the perfect space to learn, create, and connect.
