Rachel Holleman began dancing in Perkasie, Pennsylvania. As a young dancer, she studied ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical and hip-hop. After six years of serious training, she was asked to be an apprentice for Artists in Rhythm (AIR) Dance Company. Upon graduating high school one-year early, Rachel was accepted into the undergraduate contemporary program at UNCSA where she performed works by Alexei Kremnev, Merce Cunningham, Charles Czarny, Shen Wei, Juel Lane, Aszure Barton and Robyn Mineko Williams. Rachel has been honored to receive multiple awards including: the Robert & Sonja Lindgren Scholarship (2017), the Festival of North Carolina Dance Scholarship (2016), the Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarship (2016), a Campus Arts Scholarship (2015), the Wills Family Scholarship (2014), and the Nutcracker Dance Scholarship (2014).
