Torrey Jackson

Torrey Jackson is a voice instructor, music teacher and mezzo-soprano who has performed roles in opera and musical theatre in Boston, New York and around North Carolina. Currently, Mrs. Jackson teaches elementary music at Hall Woodward Elementary School in Winston-Salem and private voice in Lexington and Greensboro.

Formally as a choral director, Mrs. Jackson led her program to gain their first ever superior scores in multiple adjudications. She has directed and music directed musicals and plays for public schools and has also had the privilege to direct the Lexington Youth Theatre summer camp for the past five years, an organization which helped guide her on the road to performance in her youth.

When she isn’t teaching she loves to perform. She has most recently been seen in the Lexington Live production of the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee as Loggaine Swartzandgrubinerre and Olive's Mom. Other favorite roles include Meg (Little Women, Opera), Dorabella, (Cosi Fan Tutte), Mrs. Nolan, (The Medium), Mrs. Jones (Street Scene) and many more. In her free time Torrey loves to cook and fantasize about future travel plans with her husband Kelly, who is also a music teacher, singer and guitar player.
