About the Lab
The Arts Enterprise Lab -- a partnership between the Thomas S. Kenan Institute for
the Arts and the Center for Creative Economy -- provides a self-directed learning
environment and support network that challenges members of the Winston-Salem creative
community to discover avenues of growth and change for their business, social enterprise
or artistic practice.
The 2019 cohort of the Arts Enterprise Lab will meet at the Creative Community Lab
one evening a week for eight weeks beginning in early 2019, and again for six weeks
in the fall. Veteran creative entrepreneurs serve as instructors and mentors, delivering
curriculum that allow participants to learn about best practices, share experiences,
and develop strategies for success in their creative enterprise. Lab members who complete
the first round of programming may be eligible for a $1,000 seed grant to help move
their enterprise forward.
Applications are due on December 9, 2018, and the review committee will select the
Lab cohort by December 20, 2018.
