New Service! Dropbox Education
The UNCSA Technology Division is excited to announce that Dropbox Education has been selected as a file storage and collaboration platform for UNCSA Faculty & Staff. The service will be rolled out by department during the week of March 13-17. At that time, you will receive an email invitation to join the team and your departmental folders. Here are some of the benefits you’ll enjoy by using this system:
- unlimited version roll-back and deletion recovery
- remote access to you work files without VPN
- easy sharing and collaboration tools
What if I am already using Dropbox for my work?
Good news – you won't have to use the space in your personal account anymore! By providing a Dropbox Education account we are making it easier for you to share larger files, and collaborate within your team or with external recipients. When you join the team, you can choose where your files should go. Just select “Keep my files in my UNCSA Dropbox” and you won’t have to re-upload or re-share anything.
What if I already paid for Dropbox Pro?
You can merge your Pro account with the UNCSA account. Once the accounts are merged Dropbox will automatically refund the remaining balance of your Pro account. Reach out to Jared Johnson if you are a Dropbox Pro admin and would like to begin this process.
What if I have my personal files in my Dropbox account?
If you signed up for a personal account with your UNCSA email address, you will have the opportunity to move your files into a personal Dropbox account with a personal email address when you join the team. When asked where your files should go, select “Move my files to a new personal Dropbox.” If you signed up for a personal account with your personal email then this Dropbox account will not impact your personal account and your personal files will still be private to you.
What if I am not sure how to get started?
