UNCSA has raised $1,000 so far in SECC
UNCSA's campaign for the State Employees Combined Campaign (SECC) kicked off on Sept. 25. SECC is the only campaign authorized to solicit state employees in the workplace.
As of today, 15 of UNCSA's more than 450 employees have donated $1,020 to causes that they care about. Last year, 32 faculty and staff members donated $5,080 to causes they care about. Our goal this year is 100 percent participation, because even a little can do a lot.
What your dollars can provide
Did you know that a gift of $10 can provide support for three crisis calls to a helpline, or a hat and gloves for a child during winter? A gift of $25 can provide a health and hygiene kit for a homeless veteran, or transportation for a senior adult to a medical appointment (and the support of a companion to take notes). A gift of $52, or $1 a week for a year, can provide a backpack full of school supplies for one middle or high school student. A gift of $240, or $20 a month, can provide one day of cancer research.
There are more than 900 charities eligible to receive contributions through the SECC, including the UNC School of the Arts Foundation (No. 1836). Eligible charities include such diverse organizations as American Dance Festival, the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, Feed the Children, Friends of the Blue Ridge Parkway, March of Dimes Foundation, Piedmont Wildlife Center, Southern Poverty Law Center and Victory Junction.
Enter raffle for reserved parking spot
UNCSA's campaign ends Nov. 17. If you make a donation by Nov. 17, you will be entered into a raffle to win a reserved parking spot near your office, complete with SECC Donor sign!
Ways to make a donation
You may donate one of two ways. Through your representatives on the Faculty and Staff councils, you have been provided with a paper pledge form (please return to Joan Roggenkamp) along with a printed 2017 Giving Guide. You also were emailed an "ePledge" link on Sept. 26, allowing you to make your pledge online if you prefer. Payroll deduction is available (January through December 2018).
