Cucalorus Film Festival to screen five short films, premiere screenwriting faculty's trailer

Cucalorus Film Festival logoFive 2017 UNCSA short films, "A Robot Shrugs," "Blitz," "The Little Giraffe," "Shades," and "Supernova" will screen at the Cucalorus Festival in Wilmington, NC this weekend, Nov. 8-12. Student filmmakers Anna Kamoroff, Justin Sanchez, Kaitlyn Ali, and alumnus Marty McCarthy will attend the festival in support of their films.

School of Filmmaking screenwriting faculty member Laura Hart McKinny will also premiere a trailer for the film "Extraordinary Ventures" about young adults on the lower functioning autism spectrum benefited by a meaningful job. The film was partially funded by a grant from Filmed in NC: Cucalorus Indie Filmmakers Fund and shot in the summer of 2017 with several alumni and students collaborating as key crew. Laura will also speak on the Made in NC panel on Thursday, Nov. 9 at 4:45 p.m. at the Cucalorus Festival.
