Diversity and Inclusion training for employees and students
Residence Life Programs is offering an introductory course to social justice and inclusion. Cultural Competency Training is designed to provide participants with a foundational knowledge on diversity, inclusion, equity and access with hopes of better enhancing the conversations taking place across campus.
Special topics covered include social identities, social justice vocabulary, microaggressions, LGBTQIA+ education, intersectionality, privilege, power, oppression, bystander intervention, equity, advocacy and allyship.
Sign up to participate in a personal and professional development opportunity. Spring 2019 training dates are Friday, Feb. 22 and Friday, March 29 from 9 a.m.–3:30 p.m. February training will be in Eisenberg Social Hall in Hanes Student Commons. March training will be in the Gary A. Cobb Training Room in the Campus Police Building. The same material will be covered during both trainings.
Faculty who have class times scheduled during these opportunities can utilize the Don’t Cancel Class initiative offered by Student Affairs.
