With the theme “Art + Healing” more timely than ever, Artivate sessions will explore the ways that art and healing work together to connect and inspire us. Featured speakers include legendary American poet Nikki Giovanni, who will present the keynote address on Sept. 15; Secret City founder Chris Wells; and Vedic meditation teacher and theater artist Jamey Hood.

Artivate sessions will focus on three paths guided by the following questions:

  •  Arts Innovation – How can we use arts practices as a strategy to create new knowledge or effect positive change? How can I adapt my practice for a changing world?
  • Creative Entrepreneurship – In what ways can artists create value in the worlds of health and spirituality?
  • Artist Leadership – How can artists lead projects or movements to promote community healing?

With the registration fee waived, donations of $20 are encouraged to support presenters and future summits. For more information or questions, visit www.uncsa.edu/artivate or email Artivate Coordinator Kami Leslie at lesliek@uncsa.edu.
