Volunteers need to stock Pickle Pantry shelves

Canned food stacked on shelvesDonated food needs to be stocked on the Pickle Pantry shelves. The Pickle Pantry serves qualified students with food insecurities. The Pickle Pantry is located in the former pool room in the Fitness Center. Stocking will occur either Friday, Aug. 14 or Saturday, Aug. 15.

Three people will be allowed in the room to maintain safe social distancing. Masks are required.  It is estimated a total of three hours of work to complete, which can be broken into smaller time frames depending on the number of available volunteers. Those who want to volunteer during their regular work hours must get their supervisor's approval first and can log the time as Community Service Leave. If you can't volunteer for this immediate need, you can add your name to the Pickle Pantry volunteer pool for future opportunities.

To volunteer, email Latonya Wright, Staff Council Community Service and Sustainability Chairperson. Indicate:

  • if you can volunteer morning, afternoon or either time frame
  • if you can volunteer this Friday, Saturday or either day
  • if you wish to be added to a general Pickle Pantry volunteer pool to help with future stocking and packing of Pickle Pantry bags
