Fitness Center to reopen Monday, Sept. 21

The Fitness Center will reopen on Monday, Sept. 21, under North Carolina's Phase 2.5 plan allowing gyms and recreation centers to operate at 30% capacity. The first week will be a soft opening with modified hours; additional hours will be added the following week.

The hours of operation are:

Soft Opening begins Monday, Sept. 21– Sunday, Sept. 27

  • Monday through Friday from 7–10 a.m. and 11 a.m.–2 p.m.
  • Additional hours from 4-6 p.m. will be on Tuesday and Thursday
  • Saturday and Sunday will be 10 a.m.–1 p.m. and 2–5 p.m.

Note: The temporary closing of Spangler Way for construction from 8 p.m. Sept. 21 to 6 a.m. Sept. 22 will not affect the reopening of the Fitness Center. If construction runs over, there will be a way for pedestrians to access through Spangler Way.

Modified Hours of Operation begin on Sept. 28
Monday – Friday:

  • 7 – 10 a.m.
  • 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
  • 4 – 8 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday:

  • 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
  • 2 – 5 p.m.
  • 6 – 8 p.m.

Our facility will be operating under strict guidelines and patrons will follow all Community Health Standards and Fitness Center protocols. Patrons will be required to wear face coverings and must sign up in order to workout at the Fitness Center. Up to 12 people may schedule for the same time slot. Time slots are for one hour.
