Staff, faculty invited to UNC Cause 2020 conference

Natalie NixonUNC CAUSE is an organization composed of the management and staff of information technology at the 17 campuses in the UNC System. Its annual conference will be held virtually in October 2020. UNCSA Information Technology Department will cover the cost for any UNCSA staff or faculty member wanting to attend.

Creative strategist Natalie Nixon, Ph.D., will present "Innovation IQ: How to Master the 3 Drivers to Stay Out Front and Lead," as the keynote speaker on Tuesday, Oct. 6. Nixon's session will includes  tips for developing the three tenets of culture—people, process and place—to design an organizational culture that is primed for innovation and a prosperous future state. Her most recent book is "The Creativity Leap: Unleash Curiosity, Improvisation, and Intuition at Work."

The 2020 conference is hosted by the Western region including the following universities: UNCSA, Appalachian State University, UNCC, UNCA, Western Carolina University and Winston-Salem State University.

In lieu of the traditional, 3-day in-person event, UNC CAUSE will host a series of virtual events over a three-week span beginning Oct. 6 and running until Oct. 22. The conference will be live on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of each week with a consistent schedule of events.  The conference dates are as follows:

  • Week 1: October 6-8
  • Week 2: October 13-15
  • Week 3: October 20-22
