Artist Village construction alert: Paving along Spangler Way
Roadway paving around our new residence hall, Artist Village, is continuing into its next phase. Starting Wednesday, Dec. 8, the contractor plans on repaving the remainder of Spangler Way. The work will take up to two weeks.
During the repaving, access to the Welcome Center will be rerouted via Hollywood Boulevard into the School of Filmmaking, through Copey’s Lane, left on Mary’s Way, left on the newly repaved portion of Spangler Way, and into the Welcome Center parking lot. Temporary signage will direct drivers and foot traffic through the detour route, which is reflected in the attached map. We apologize for the inconvenience, but the work is necessary to the completion of the Artist Village project. The previous paving phase took longer than planned.
Pedestrian traffic to Fitness Center and Lot N remains via Waughtown Street
As a reminder, the pedestrian tunnel along Spangler Way is no longer available, and access to the Fitness Center and Lot N (resident student parking) will be via Waughtown Street only. There is a sidewalk along Waughtown Street that will take pedestrians to the Fitness Center and Lot N.
