Staff Enrichment offerings slated for July

July dates and times for Staff Enrichment are Tuesday, July 19 and Wednesday, July 20 from 10 a.m.-noon and from 2-4 p.m. The Quality Workplace is offering skills training and wellness activities during these times or you the time be self- or team-directed.

The Quality Workplace Committee is offering the following enrichment opportunities that are 45 minutes. Some offerings are repeated at different times and days. Please register for the following opportunities that interest you.

Social Media Do’s and Don’ts

Led by Melissa Upton-Julio in Strategic Communications. Learn best practices across different social media platforms. Tips and tricks for if you manage a social media channel or want to learn for your personal social media. (In-person. July 19 at 10 a.m. in Library 4th Floor North End.)

Tour de Fitness Center

Led by the Fitness Center Staff. Explore and tour the UNCSA Fitness Center. Staff can join the Fitness Center by the semester or year as a payroll deduction. (In-person. July 19 and July 20 at 10 a.m., and again at 11 a.m. each day. Meet at the Fitness Center.)

Get to know your Campus Police & Tour

Led by Lt. Dove. You may have a preconceived notion about law enforcement so take this opportunity to get to know our Campus Police. Tour the Police building, learn about program offerings, how and when to report to Campus Police, how Police can help other campus partners and why parking enforcement is handled the way it is. (In-person. July 19 at 2 p.m. Meet in Police building lobby.)

Film: Behind the Scenes

Led by School of Filmmaking production coordinator Matt Walkowski. Tour some of the unique filmmaking spaces we have on campus such as the sound stages, scoring stage, Foley stage, the ACE Exhibition Complex theatres and the New Media Building. Learn how these spaces are used in making films. (In-person. July 19 at 3 p.m. and again July 20 at 11 a.m. Meet under ACE Exhibition Complex marquee in Film Village.)

Library or Netflix?

Led by UNCSA Librarian Sarah Falls. Did you know that the UNCSA Library has streaming subscriptions to films, documentaries, and performances? Spend time with library staff to explore this perk that is available through your campus login. (In-person. July 19 at 3 p.m. in Library 2209.)

Spanish-English Conversation Meetup

With Heidi Sosa and Elizabeth White. Practice your Spanish or your Inglés with other staff members who are either native-Español speakers or native-English speakers. Whether you learned your second language years ago, are studying using a language app (Duolingo, Rosetta Stone, Babbel, etc.) or are interested in learning a second language, this no-pressure meetup will be a fun way to meet bilingual staff. (In-person. July 20 at 10 a.m. at the Pickle Jar in Hanes Commons.)

Demo of Banner 9 Self-Service - My Finance Query and Delete Finance Template Modules

Gary Penrod in Financial Services will give a demo of the My Finance Query and Delete Finance Template modules in Banner 9 Self-Service for those who manage department budgets.  Demos for the My Requisitions and My Journals modules will be offered in August. (Via Teams meeting)
