Two UNCSA Short Films to Screen at Joedance Film Festival
Fresh from their honors from the Real to Reel Film Festival, 2022 UNCSA films "Sonata"
and "Suga Brown" will screen in-person in the Joedance Film Festival student film
screening block on Saturday, Aug. 6 at 1 p.m. at the Charlotte (NC) Ballet Theater.
Both films will also be available to screen in the student section online for 24 hours
beginning at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 6.
Joedance is a unique NC film festival, benefiting rare pediatric cancer research.
The 2022 Joedance Film Festival will be held both in-person and online August 4-6.
Tickets for the online screenings are $30 for the student selection, $30 for a single
day virtual pass, or $65 for a single day in-person pass.

Animated short “Sonata” is written, directed and with lead animation by Madison Crisp,
Abby Davenport, Fern Singleton, and Vic Sosa; with story by Hailey Hudson and Ava
Tennis; produced by Robert Mageau and Hailey Hudson; edited by Lyric Abbott; sound

“Suga Brown” is directed by Clarke Phillips; written by Pat LaGue and Clarke Phillips;
