The craft of telling stories about injustice within the criminal justice system

Empty jail cellAll are welcome to attend a panel discussion on the craft of telling stories about injustice within the criminal justice system, featuring playwright Sarah Shourd and actors Anthony Jefferson and John Neblett from "the BOX" and journalist and Wake Forest University faculty member Phoebe Zerwick, author of "Beyond Innocence: The Life Sentence of Darryl Hunt." DLA faculty member Dr. Mike Wakeford will moderate. Shourd, Jefferson, and Neblett are in Winston-Salem with the End of Isolation Tour, which is staging "the BOX" at Winston-Salem's Ramkat August 25, 26 and 27. The play, underwritten by the Pulitzer Center, is written and performed by formerly incarcerated people and survivors of solitary confinement.
 
The panel discussion is 8:30-10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 25 on the North End of the 4th floor in the UNCSA Library.
