Meet Chelsea Doerfer
I am Chelsea Doerfer and I'm the Special Events Manager in the Advancement Office. I am responsible for producing events that build, deepen, and recognize relationships between the community (donors, alumni, friends) and UNCSA. Through our fundraising events, like NextNow (March 16, 2019), I am also responsible for raising critical funds for scholarships or other programs.
My favorite part of NextNow is running the event and seeing the event attendees discover UNCSA anew. I get to be the person who creates a unique experience that gets people excited about the School, (re)ignites their passion for the arts, and makes advocates for our emerging artists.
I double majored in English and Drama, with an honors in stage management, from University of California at Irvine and received my M.F.A. in Performing Arts Management from UNCSA. As an employee, I’ve gained a deeper understanding of UNCSA’s impact in our immediate community and the world at large. I’ve learned more about the work of each arts school and the important role that the arts plays in developing critical thinkers, leaders and, of course, artists.
I most enjoy spending time with my family: my husband, Will; son, Liam; and stepson, Wesley. We love going to parks, the Science Center and Kaleideum.
