A cross-departmental team forms the Quality Workplace Committee charged with strive to foster a quality workplace environment as part of the 2015-2020 Strategic Action Plan. UNCSA seeks to attract, develop, and retain an exemplary faculty and staff inspired by a sense of mission, meaning, and purpose. The Quality Workplace Committee is currently undertaking the following initiatives and will continue to seek input and feedback from the UNCSA campus community on ways to improve working at UNCSA.
In an effort to build new relationships across the University in our faculty and staff, we offer departmental campus tours. In 2019-20, we toured of all arts schools. In FY20, we are planning tours of the Library and Learning Commons, the Stevens Center, High School academics, and the Welcome Center. Watch for the My SA announcements for tour sign-ups and put your name in the tour lottery.

"Lunch on Us" is an opportunity for faculty, staff and administration to meet colleagues from different departments over lunch. Lunch On Us will occur every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month. Those interested in being in the drawing for the monthly lunch should submit their names for the lottery. Lunch is provided.
The 2020 Employee Engagement Survey was emailed to employees on Feb. 4. The Deadline to complete the survey is Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2020. The survey is also available in Spanish. (La encuesta también está disponible en español.) To ensure that your responses remain confidential, do not forward the email to anyone else. Your answers will be stored each time you select the SAVE & CONTINUE button on the survey. You can access the survey as many times as you need. You will not be able to access the survey after you select the SUBMIT button on the last page of the survey.
During the summer, we will receive and share reports that summarize the data provided so we can recognize our successes and address concerns that affect and influence our workplace culture.
The 2018 ModernThink Employee Engagement Survey which showed improvement across many areas and a largely positive trend when compared to our 2016 data. With input from across campus, we developed and released our core institutional values statement. The lack of a values statement was identified as a gap from the results of the ModernThink survey in 2016. Our Core Institutional Values Statement is statement reflects our highest aspirations and will guide our work.
