Trios Sublime
Faculty Artist Series
The Black Mountain Trio is named to honor the vision of Black Mountain College, a vibrant artistic and educational institution that enriched the cultural history of North Carolina during the middle of the 20th century.
Each trio member—violinist Kevin Lawrence, cellist Brooks Whitehouse and pianist Dmitri Vorobiev—has dedicated a significant part of his career to the musical life of North Carolina and the Southeastern region of the United States. The trio has performed in North Carolina, South Carolina, Vermont and Ohio, as well as Beijing and Shenzhen, China. This program offers two jewels of the piano trio repertoire—the magnificent C major trio of Brahms, and Ravel's resplendent trio in A minor.
