UNCSA Summer Dance 2022

Summer Dance

The UNCSA Choreographic Institute’s Summer Dance 2022 finale will feature a fully produced summer performance designed by this year’s four resident choreographers. The dancers, ages 15-18, come from around the country and the world to participate in the UNCSA Summer Dance Program and work with the resident choreographers to shape and present the new pieces.

This year’s resident choreographers are: UNCSA alumna Julia Eisen (High School Dance ’08), originally of Chapel Hill and now of Nashville, Tennessee, and Helen Hatch of Saint Paul, Minnesota, both in contemporary ballet; and UNCSA alumna Lina Puodžiukaitė-Lanauskienė (B.F.A. Dance ’04) of Kuanas, Lithuania, and J’Sun Howard of Chicago, both in contemporary dance.

For the summer 2022 session, more than 200 applications were submitted for the four available spots.
