One of the leading female bassists in the United States, guest artist Nina DeCesare will give a recital to highlight the annual Double Bass Day at UNCSA. DeCesare is on the double bass faculty at Peabody Conservatory and a member of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. She also was a headline soloist at the International Society of Bassists Convention last summer, and has a robust career as a soloist as well as chamber, contemporary and orchestral musician.

Double Bass Day, hosted by faculty artist Paul Sharpe and the Double Bass Studio at UNCSA, is a daylong series of events for all levels of bassists, from middle school to professional.
