Grammy-nominated oboist Claire Chenette will be joining the UNCSA faculty, students and alumni for an exciting concert featuring contemporary music.

The program will showcase compositions by Jimena Contreras, Reena Esmail and Viet Cuong. With a notable career, Chenette has served as principal oboe with the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra since 2014 and has performed as a member of esteemed ensembles such as the Des Moines Metro Opera, Wildup modern music collective and Nief Norf ensemble. An advocate for new music, Chenette has premiered numerous new works for the oboe and has performed with renowned orchestras and music festivals worldwide.
