Overview
In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the opening of UNCSA’s distinguished Watson Hall, the UNCSA Chamber Music Festival, now in its third year, expands to include three concerts this fall.
And helping to bring it all to life are five renowned guest artists: Grammy Award-winning violist Kim Kashkashian; cellist Brant Taylor of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra; and hornist David Byrd-Marrow, a member of the International Contemporary Ensemble in residence at Lincoln Center’s Mostly Mozart Festival, leva Jokubaviciute, Associate Professor of the Practice of Piano at Duke University and Axel Strauss, Professor of Violin at the Schulich School of Music at McGill University.
Brass and woodwinds join the strings on the first two concerts for an even richer sound. As always, the festival promises opportunities for rewarding performance experiences when Music students share the stage with UNCSA faculty and guest performers.
