BOCA RATON — Susie’s Hope portrays the inspirational relationship between a pit bull attack survivor and an abused pit bull-mix puppy as they learn to heal and forgive together, available on Video on Demand (VOD) (May 1) and DVD (Aug. 5) from Green Apple Entertainment.

Based on a true story that successfully passed Susie’s Law in North Carolina – which enacted stricter punishment for animal abusers – Susie’s Hope brings to life the inspirational relationship between pit bull-attack survivor, Donna Lawrence, and Susie, a pit bull-mix puppy found beaten, burned and left for dead.

Recognizing neglect and abuse were to blame for the tragic attack that nearly claimed her life 10 months earlier, Donna rescues the battered animal and accepts her as family. Together, they learn to heal, love and forgive as they lead a historic effort to seek justice and protection, not only for Susie, but all animals.

Starring Emmanuelle Vaugier (40 Days and 40 Nights), Burgess Jenkins (Remember the Titans) and Andrea Powell (Ender’s Game), and directed by Jerry Rees (The Brave Little Toaster), the film tells the incredible true story of love, loss and redemption.

Susie’s Hope is presented in widescreen with an aspect ratio of 16 x 9 (1.78:1) and 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround Sound.

Produced and shot in North Carolina, the film premiered at the RiverRun International Film Festival and won awards at the Cape Fear Independent Film Festival and Greenville International Film Festival before gaining national distribution. The soundtrack features tracks by Charlie Daniels, Vince Gill and rising star Lacy Green.
