Clara Hirata was born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil. She grew up interested in the arts, especially theatre. But it wasn't until freshman year of high school that she truly found her passion: filmmaking. She left Brazil in search of a better education in the United States at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.
As a rising senior pursuing a BFA in Filmmaking with a concentration in Directing, Clara dreams of one day having the opportunity to direct her own feature film. During her free time she FaceTimes with her family, hangs out with friends and tries to consume as much art as possible.
