At an early age, Jacquelyn Bartlett was surrounded with music. Her mother, Mary Bartlett,
was a noted harpist and teacher who sent her on to study with Carlos Salzedo, Alice
Chalifoux and Lucille Lawrence. Later, she studied with Susann McDonald bringing together
the best of the Salzedo and French harp techniques.
Having served as Principal Harpist of the Indianapolis Symphony, the National Ballet
Co. and the North Carolina Symphony, she also served as guest harpist with the New
York Philharmonic, the Detroit Symphony and the Baltimore Symphony. As a concerto
soloist, she has won praise for her numerous solo appearances including the Ginastera
Harp Concerto and the world premiere of Dan Locklair’s Harp Concerto followed by a
recording with the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra.
As a chamber musician, Ms. Bartlett served as the Artistic Director of Summer Music
