Charley Shafer is an alumna of UNCSA, and holds certifications from Meadowmount School of Music where she studied with Sally Thomas, and the EuroArts Music Festival in Leipzig, Germany. She performs as concertmaster of the Cayambis Sinfonietta, which performs Pan American orchestral music throughout the region.
She plays in the sections of the Western Piedmont Symphony, Winston Salem Symphony, Asheville Symphony and other regional orchestras. Versatile and prolific, her hip hop/funk fusion collaborative effort as “Geigespass” with Dj Mike Wawa has performed festivals in Charlotte and Greensboro, and presented at the 2021 TedX event in Hickory.
She teaches for the Community Music School of UNCSA, and is an active chamber music, musical theater and studio recording violinist throughout the region.
