In-state graduates are eligible for the Tuition Grant Program that awards four years of tuition to any UNC System school for free. Additionally, grants are available to cover room and board expenses.

With test scores that far surpass state and national averages, graduating students typically earn more than $40,000 in merit scholarship offers to top colleges.

UNCSA offers an incredible arts and academic education at an unparalleled value. In-state tuition is free and direct costs are less than $3,000 a year, a fraction of the expense of private arts training alone.

The UNCSA application has conservatory-specific deadlines in early fall and spring. Be sure to review the appropriate application deadline for your conservatory of interest. 

Visit uncsa.edu/admissions/apply.aspx to start the application process. Each of our five conservatories has its own admissions process and requirements, and our counselors are here to guide you and offer a personalized experience. 

Upload your required documents. These include your transcript, courses in progress, test scores, two letters of recommendation, artistic statement and resume.

If you meet the admissions criteria, you will be evaluated by faculty which may include an interview or audition as the final step in the process. We believe faculty assessment, auditions and interviews are the best ways to evaluate the true gifts and professional potential of young artists.
