Now in its 20th season, the renowned A.J. Fletcher Opera Institute offers highly personalized and in-depth training at the graduate and post-graduate level. Fellows accepted into the Institute are awarded full tuition with all fees paid, plus a stipend to help cover living expenses and health insurance.
The Institute produces fully-staged productions of new and established operatic works
each year, and Fellows also participate in touring and outreach programs. Their extensive
performance experience is enriched by advanced studies in voice, language, diction,
operatic literature, acting, movement, stage combat and career enhancement strategies.

"Volpone," a bright, biting comic opera inspired by the classic Ben Johnson play of the same name, will be presented by the A.J. Fletcher Opera Institute at UNCSA, April 20-24.
As an ensemble member of Staatstheater Nürnberg in Nuremberg, Germany, Soprano Emily Newton has the opportunity to perform for Europe's opera-loving audiences regularly in some of her favorite roles of her globe-spanning career.
