General Education

UNCSA Liberal Arts Core:

*General Education Electives/Interdisciplinary courses (ARE, ARH, ARM, ATY, COM, ENG, FRE, GER, HIS, HUM, ITA, LIT, MAT, MST, PHI, PSY, SCI, SOC, TAI, THH, WRI) This includes courses offered by the Division of Liberal Arts, and with specific permission by the Dean of Liberal Arts, can include courses offered by one of the Art Schools, provided that the course is outside the student's major area of concentration (Dance, Design and Production, Drama, Film, or Music).
**These courses must be at the 1102 level or above.

The School of Filmmaking requires a total of 6 additional credits earned from courses offered by the Division of Liberal Arts or any UNCSA ART School – Dance, Design and Production, Drama, Filmmaking, or Music. These may be taken earlier than Year Four, but we strongly recommend that they only be taken in semesters when the student is registered for one Gen Ed requirement.
All Production Design students must complete a minimum of 8 credit hours of arts elective coursework as part of the required credit hours towards this degree. Elective course credits may be fulfilled by any of the following: FAR 2070, FAR 3020, FIM 33XX, FIM 4088, FAN XX98, FAR XX98, FIM XX98, as well as permitted Arts classes outside of the student's concentration.
